The previously announced Lincoln Center Theater production of playwright Sarah Ruhl’s In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play will make its way to the Lyceum Theatre, beginning performances October 22. The comedy, directed by Les Waters (who helmed the world premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre), will open on November 19.
Described as a comedy about marriage, intimacy and electricity, In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play had its world premiere last month at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. LCT gave Ruhl her New York debut with its production of The Clean House. Her other plays include Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Demeter in the City, Eurydice, Late: a cowboy song, Melancholy Play, Orlando and Passion Play: a cycle.
In the Next Room will mark Ruhl’s Broadway debut as a playwright. Casting and additional details will be announced at a later date.
